Exploring Love with Hawai’ian Ceremonial Cacao

  • Ashtanga Yoga Centre 110-112 Argyle Street Fitzroy, VIC, 3065 Australia (map)

Explore 5 ways to journey with cacao and relationships in love with Ash Bell and Mish from Heart Earth Drum in this special ceremonial event. From the young magical island of Hawaii we bring to you one the the rarest ceremonial cacao’s in the world. Just like the island has has five volcanoes we will explore 5 relationships of her love language with her Aina (her land).

First Nations teach us that knowledge is one that must be earned and discovered not with facts but through relationships. What relationships does cacao present us to explore? First of all since it physically “opens our heart” allowing for easier vascular blood flow it teaches us how to flow and take recycle, clear clean and filter out energy (just like our heart)

We will be having not 1 but 5 cacaos during this ceremony. We will be exploring the relationships of:

Hamakua Coast : this translates to the coast of the breath of god. This is where our cacao is grown at the foothills of the sacred Mauna Kea. We start here learning how land and environment teach us about our nature. health benefits : Reduce inflammation, improved digestive health, improved cognitive function. Restore magnesium and minerals

Chaga - We call this offering “channel” why? The mycelium kingdom has inspired many modern day creations and technology based on their ability to communicate. Chaga which grows on trees show us how to use our body to connect to our “intuition” and right to be. Health benefits: Chaga is believed to have potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, making it a potential alternative remedy for things like arthritis and high blood pressure.

Awa (Kava) - this root connects our stars and our earth. Used many times in circles when people are settling discord it calms our mind towards its own judgement and overthinking and allows you to be. Great for those starpeople who find it hard to connect this will support a greater ease. Health benefits : reduce pain, relax muscles

Taro- one of the most sacred medicines used in ceremony is Hawai’i it is considered the Staff of Life uniting the heavens, the earth and that below. The leaves of the poi are heart shaped. Health benefits : hypoallergenic, B12

Rose and hibiscus - as we bring everything together we approach this “triple heart” relationship to learn more about the matters if the heart and how to have good boundaries and heal. This is Marita’s family recipe passed down for generations.
